Acupuncture aims to promote and restore the balance of energy, which flows throughout the body. Acupuncture may be beneficial for a wide variety of conditions. Some of these include: respiratory conditions (i.e., sinusitis and asthma), digestive complaints (i.e., nausea, vomiting, irritable bowel syndrome), stress, pain, migraine headaches, fibromyalgia and symptoms of osteoarthritis, Parkinson’s disease, reducing fatigue and for promoting overall well-being. Many of the conditions that we treat with physical therapy respond well with acupuncture as a combined treatment.
Relatively few complications from using acupuncture have been reported. Still, complications have resulted from use of nonsterile needles and improper delivery of treatments. Rest assured that we use new, sterile needles for each and every acupuncture treatment.
